What jewellery remodelling means
Remodelling means transforming an existing piece into a new design: most often by preserving the gemstones and precious metal and reimagining the setting around them. A grandmother's diamond becomes a modern engagement ring; a dated brooch becomes a pendant worn weekly; inherited gold is melted down and reborn.
The sentiment stays entirely. Only the form changes, made to suit your hand and your life, and crafted to the same standard as a piece made from scratch.
What can be remodelled
More than most people expect. Engagement rings and dress rings are the most common, but we regularly remodel brooches, pendants, earrings and chains. Diamonds and coloured gemstones are usually excellent candidates for resetting; pearls can be restrung or incorporated into new designs; and gold can often be melted and reworked.
The honest answer depends on the piece, which is why every remodelling begins with an assessment under magnification. Some stones need a protective setting, some older mounts are not worth salvaging, and occasionally a stone needs repolishing first. We tell you plainly what is possible.
Designed with you, seen before it is made
With over 45 years of experience and CAD design technology, our jewellers help you visualise the new piece before anything is altered: sketches or CAD renders until the design feels right, then careful unsetting, making and finishing in our own workshop.
Many clients keep a small detail from the original, a particular curve or the placement of a stone, so the new piece carries a quiet echo of the old.
