A bangle is a closed circle of metal, not a chain with a clasp. Ours are made in solid gold or sterling silver in the Cottesloe workshop: plain, twisted, or gem-set, finished so the weight sits true on the wrist and the join disappears into the design.
Fit is decided while you visit. We measure for how a bangle should pass the hand and settle on the wrist, then talk through stacking several slim pieces versus one broader statement form. Plain solid metal can often be adjusted later; gem-set bangles have tighter limits, because stones and settings fix where the metal can be opened or closed.
Gold bangles anchor the collection: solid twist and knife edge forms in polished 18ct yellow gold, textured and satin finished hinged bangles in 18ct white gold, and gem set pieces carrying Broome pearls, diamonds and sapphires. A hinged bangle opens to let the wrist in, so it can sit closer than a solid hoop that must clear the hand; trying both forms side by side usually settles the choice within minutes.
Metal colour deserves a moment, because a bangle shows more metal than almost anything else you wear. White gold is finished with rhodium for its bright white colour, and replating every year or two, depending on wear, is routine in-house care. Yellow gold needs no plating; the fine marks of daily wear simply polish back to brightness in the workshop. Whichever you choose, take a bangle off for the pool, since chlorine attacks gold alloys, and let us look it over when you are next passing the atelier.
