Men's Wedding Bands and Groomsmen Cufflinks in Perth

A men's wedding band has to survive the same decade as the engagement ring, usually with less ceremony and more work. Cufflinks for a wedding party are a different brief: several pieces, often engraved, needed on a fixed morning. Both are made or finished in Cottesloe. Neither is an entry-price gift list.

What should I look for in a men's wedding band?

Width, comfort-fit, metal and finish. Those four decisions cover almost every band we make. Comfort-fit (a slightly rounded inner surface) is the usual choice for a ring worn through work and sleep. Width depends on the finger and the job. Metal should usually match the engagement ring so the pair ages as one thought.

A brushed finish hides daily marks. A high polish shows them sooner and can be refreshed in the workshop. There is no correct answer. There is only the hand in front of us and how it is used. If the wearer works with tools or in water, we talk about that before we choose an edge that will catch or a finish that will look tired in a month.

Do you have cufflinks for a wedding?

Yes. Cufflinks are in the collection, in sterling silver and 18ct gold, plain, engraved and gem-set. Engraving can be arranged in-house. This is wedding-party jewellery: a matched set for groomsmen, a single pair for the groom, or a commission for a father or best man.

Bring wording and a count of pieces. We confirm what the metal will take and how long the set will need. A last-minute request the week of the wedding is sometimes possible for a simple engraving on stock. It is not possible for a fully made pair in a metal we do not have on the tray.

Can you engrave a groomsmen set?

Yes. Initials, a date, a short line or a simple motif can be cut on most silver and gold faces. Ready-made pairs can often be engraved in a short turnaround. Fully bespoke faces take longer because the design and making come first.

Matching does not have to mean identical. Some parties want the same face with different initials. Others want one pair for the groom that is clearly his. Say which you want at the start so we do not engrave six identical faces and then change our minds. Spellings and dates should be written down, not remembered from a text message at the counter.

How far ahead should a wedding party order?

Give the workshop weeks, not days, especially if several pieces need matching engraving or a men's band is being made to sit against an engagement ring. Call if the date is close and we will say what is still possible.

The band and the cufflinks do not have to be the same appointment. Many grooms settle the band with the engagement ring, then return for the party pieces once numbers are firm. If the wedding is in another city, say so early. We can finish here and ship, or hold the set for collection from Cottesloe the week before you travel.

Should the men's band match the engagement ring metal?

Usually yes, if the two will be worn together in photographs and in ordinary life. Platinum with platinum, 18ct yellow with 18ct yellow. White gold beside platinum will drift as the rhodium wears. We can still mix metals if you have seen them together and want that.

Width does not need to match. A finer engagement shank beside a slightly broader men's band is common and looks considered when the colour agrees.
