An oval reads generously for its weight. Carat is weight, not size, and two diamonds of equal weight can face up very differently depending on how they are cut; the oval's elongated outline carries its spread along the finger, which is why the shape brings presence without asking for extra carat. The oval rings in this collection are made in our own workshop in 950 platinum and 18ct white and yellow gold: oval solitaires, single and double halos, trilogy designs and a milgrain cluster piece among them.
Colour suits the shape as well. Oval Ceylon sapphire and sapphire diamond rings, an aquamarine pave design and tanzanite pieces run through the collection alongside the diamonds. Every diamond we set is natural, selected and inspected in person, and for significant stones we recommend respected independent grading, most often GIA, reviewed line by line. Proportions decide how any oval performs in light, so we compare stones side by side in daylight at the atelier before anything is settled.
If the right oval is not here, we make it: your story and budget first, then sketches and CAD, then the stone selected and set under one roof in Cottesloe, with most commissions ready within four to eight weeks of an approved design. Ovals also run deeper than engagement rings here; oval wedding bands and a claw set half eternity pass through the collection, and bands are shaped at the same bench to sit flush against the ring they will live beside.
Spread and proportion settle in person. Book an engagement appointment in Cottesloe and compare ovals beside rounds in natural light before you decide.
