Broome pearl studs, drops and huggie earrings, made and finished in our Cottesloe workshop. Each pair is matched by hand for lustre and size before it is set in 18ct gold or platinum.

The pearls we set come first from the waters off Broome and the Kimberley coast, where the silver-lipped Pinctada maxima oyster grows the largest and most lustrous pearls in the world. Thick nacre gives an Australian South Sea pearl its deep, soft glow, and that glow is what a fine pair of earrings trades on: the light sits beside your face, not on a tray. We also work with Akoya pearls when a smaller, sharper, more mirror-like lustre suits a classic stud.
Because each pearl is unique, a pair is a matching exercise. We select for lustre first, then size, shape, surface and overtone, so both ears read as one piece. Scale is hard to judge from a photograph: a stud that looks modest online can sit larger against your earlobe, which is why we fit earrings in person at the Cottesloe atelier, in daylight, before you decide.
Every pair is made or finished in our own workshop, with posts and backs chosen for the design and weight: friction backs for lighter studs, screw or locking styles where more security helps, and lever-style closures on many drops and huggies. If a pair ever feels loose or heavy, bring it back; adjustment happens at the same bench that made it.
